Case Description:
The Sudan Human Rights Organization (SHRO-Cairo) had received reliable information on the extrajudicial killing case of Ahmed Salim, a member of the Nuba, 45 years of age, who was murdered by a gunfire of the NIF armed groups at the Mayo area south of the Green Belt On August 31, 1995.
The NIF murderers had been policing the area, before the crime took place. The government tried to cover up the case, yet the victim's family discovered the dead body at Khartoum's hospital and reported the murder to the police.
SHRO-Cairo was further informed that Salim Had been killed when the authorities were launching air raids on the Nuba mountains, that resulted in many casualties and destruction of property.
In these bombardments, the NIF government used internationally prohibited chemical weapons. The NIF/GOS Regime is held fully accountable for the death of Ahmed Salim, and the person(s) who opened fire on him is (are) still at large.
