Case Description:


On 14 June 1993, Nafie Obeid Omran and Dafa' Allah Hassan Dafa' Allah of the Rashayda people of eastern Sudan were both executed extrajudicially at Dordaib Checkpoint by Al-Awad Mohamed Idris, a member of the NIF military forces. Al-Awad did admit that he had committed the killing crime, but Sudan Government has not prosecuted him until this moment. Other extrajudicial killings of the Rashayda people included the following victims:

(1) Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Tilaimi (shot dead on Feb 1992) 
(2) Himaid Al-Kuraifi (killed in a place between Halfa Al-Gadida town and the Buttana Bridge).

On March 6, 1992, Suliman Rashid Suailim was killed at a spot between Suakin and al-Saloom. His car was expropriated by the security forces of the NIF regime.  On June 8, 1992, Hamid Ali al-Yamini was killed in a massacre committed between Port Sudan and Mohamed Goal station. In August 1992, Marshoud Qunaim Dawas was killed in Buttana between Rufa'a and al-Gaili towns by the NIF military forces.

The Rashayda People preserve the right to disclose the names and whereabouts of the killings to any competent legal prosecutors other than the Sudanese Government officials or the NIF security elements.
